PEPPERS :: 2018 STATS
We are closing in on the “totals posts”. This one, and two left to go. We hope you are as encouraged as we have been, seeing what can be grown in small spaces.
79 bell peppers, in varying colors of the rainbow, and 175 banana peppers left our hands and went to food pantries to distribute to the vulnerable and in need.
That was about 30 pounds worth of peppers! 🙌🏻
Why do we grow these peppers?
BELL PEPPERS: Bell peppers are loaded with antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. One medium-sized red bell pepper contains 169% of the RDA for vitamin C! It’s also rich in vitamins B6, K1, E, A, potassium and folate.
BANANA PEPPERS: Banana peppers contain significant amounts of vitamin A, C and Vitamin B6. Banana peppers contain traces of various minerals including calcium and magnesium but are a rich source of one in particular. A small 33g serving of banana pepper can provide you with 84g of potassium!!
This is why it’s always a good idea to eat your colors. 🌶
